Children are eager to understand the world around them and to discover how it works. They are natural scientists and philosophers continually engaged in a process of constructing meaning from their experiences, interactions and observations. Inquisitive, flexible and open, they explore the world full of wonder and a readiness to be amazed! The school and home experience should build on this natural curiosity and the unique interests, questions and views of the world each child brings to the learning process.

Play is a vital part of learning. It is the rich backdrop in which children make discoveries, test out theories, explore questions, refine understandings and apply their developing skills.

Outdoor experiences and discovery in the natural world are fundamental to children's learning, well-being, creativity and health. By providing quality indoor and outdoor learning environments, we give children the structures they need to explore, discover and learn.
