Student Support

Each child is a unique human being and brings to learning an individual learning style, set of experiences, interests and view of the world. Children learn at different rates and their varying developmental levels impact their 'readiness' to assimilate new concepts and skills. Additionally, a child's view of him/herself affects the learning process. In teacher planning, it is essential that these influences be recognized and valued. When planning reflects an understanding of child development and individual student needs, we assure that children can be successful and we engage them as active participants in their own learning.

Learn outside provides mentoring for teachers around planning for individual students. Support may include:

  • observation of student(s) and/or teacher to look for areas to extend or develop
  • one-on-one time/support with individual students
  • consultation with teachers
  • development of intervention plans and strategies
  • collaborative planning
  • space design plans for indoor and/or outdoor learning environments
  • transition strategies, interventions and classroom protocols

On-site professional mentoring for teachers is available both in the indoor and outdoor learning environments, as appropriate.
